Tour School 2026 Reflections

Tour School proved to be a disappointing week. Despite placing myself in a strong position late in the tournament standing at two under par with five holes to play I was ultimately unable to capitalise. Across the four rounds, I played some very solid golf and managed the challenging windy conditions well.

Following a two-hour frost delay, the final round was converted to a shotgun start to ensure completion before nightfall. Starting from the fourth tee, I produced a controlled and composed round and again found myself two under par with five holes remaining, well positioned to finish inside the top four. Unfortunately, the par-3 17th proved costly. A misjudgment of the wind off the tee sent my ball long into the water, and an eventual eight on the hole brought my run to an abrupt end.

It was a bitter pill to swallow after playing well throughout the week, with a handful of mistakes proving extremely costly. These mental errors are lessons I must take forward and improve upon. Ultimately, it was an excellent opportunity that slipped away.

“Like chess, golf is a game that is forever challenging but can never be conquered.” Harvey Penick
